NSIP Desk Officer for Ajaokuta LG Hails Federal Government Efforts
All NSIP programs established by the administration of President Muhamadu Buhari, have so far had significant impact in Ajaokuta Local Government Area and indeed, the entire 774 Local Government Areas across the country.
The State NSIP focal person, Hon Prince Suleiman Onyiekehi has been so workaholic and instrumental in making sure the targeted audience for Conditional Cash Transfer scheme are reached.
He understand that the project is a pathway to have direct access to the poor and vulnerable, using improved social safety net systems for employment opportunities in all Participating States and to provide Targeted Cash Transfers to the poor, vulnerable and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and this was exactly what he adopted for Ajaokuta LG which gave room for about 5205 beneficiaries for Ajaokuta Only. Kudos sir.
I wish to extol the most security conscious chairman of Ajaokuta LG, Hon Akaaba Aliyu Mustapha who has created an enabling environment for peace and orderliness to thrive, making it easy for us to control such number of people while paying them. The hitch & glitch free process is as a result of effective security architecture & welfarism provided for NSIP officials by the Hon Chairman.
Mrs Faliat Yinka, the state Head of Unit, Condition Cash Transfer deserves accolades for her effectiveness and resourcefulness. She is conscious about the fact that Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programme is one of the scheme that is led by the World Bank for the purpose of Poverty Alleviation and on this notion, she has always been performing her avowed responsibilities diligently to the best interest of the people of Ajaokuta LG and Kogi State at large.
Therefore, I wish encourage all the beneficiaries to key into savings in their various groups formed to avoid exuberant expenditure of the fund
I sincerely wish to appreciate the security personnels for their utmost display of professionalism, civility and forthrightness which enabled me to succeed in coordinating the task placed on my shoulder as the HUPCCT Desk Officer for Ajaokuta Local Government.
Congratulations to all the beneficiaries.
Mall. Yakubu Shaidu.
Desk Officer Ajaokuta LGA.

Survival Rates for Mesothelioma 2021

How is mesothelioma treated?
The main factors in selecting treatment for mesotheliomas are the location and extent of the tumor, whether it has spread to lymph nodes or other organs, and your health and personal preferences. Based on these factors, your treatment options may include:
- Surgery for Malignant Mesothelioma
- Palliative Procedures for Malignant Mesothelioma
- Radiation Therapy for Malignant Mesothelioma
- Chemotherapy for Malignant Mesothelioma
- Immunotherapy for Malignant Mesothelioma
- Targeted Therapy for Malignant Mesothelioma
Common treatment approaches
Mesothelioma can be hard to treat because it typically does not grow as a single tumor mass. It tends to spread along nearby surfaces, nerves, and blood vessels. This often makes it very hard to get rid of the cancer completely with surgery and/or radiation. For some people, palliative procedures might be used to help treat some symptoms of mesothelioma.
Because mesothelioma is a rare cancer, it has been hard for doctors to compare the value of different treatments. Only a few large clinical trials of treatments for mesothelioma have been done. In addition, many doctors have very little experience treating this disease. They usually refer patients to specialists who treat large numbers of mesothelioma patients at major medical centers.
Survival rates can give you an idea of what percentage of people with the same type and stage of cancer are still alive a certain amount of time (usually 5 years) after they were diagnosed. They can’t tell you how long you will live, but they may help give you a better understanding of how likely it is that your treatment will be successful.
Keep in mind that survival rates are estimates and are often based on previous outcomes of large numbers of people who had a specific cancer, but they can’t predict what will happen in any particular person’s case.
These statistics can be confusing and may lead you to have more questions. Talk with your doctor about how these numbers may apply to you, as he or she is familiar with your situation.
Mesothelioma 5-year relative survival rate?
A relative survival rate compares people with the same type and stage of malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) to people in the overall population. For example, if the 5-year relative survival rate for a specific stage of MPM is 30%, it means that people who have that cancer are, on average, about 30% as likely as people who don’t have that cancer to live for at least 5 years after being diagnosed.
Where do these numbers come from?
The American Cancer Society relies on information from the SEER* database, maintained by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), to provide survival statistics for different types of cancer.
The SEER database tracks 5-year relative survival rates for MPM in the United States, based on how far the cancer has spread. The SEER database, however, does not group cancers by AJCC TNM stages (stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, etc.). Instead, it groups cancers into localized, regional, and distant stages:
- Localized: The cancer is limited to the pleura.
- Regional: The cancer has spread to nearby structures or to nearby lymph nodes.
- Distant: The cancer has spread to distant parts of the body such as the liver, bones or pleura on the other side of the body.
5-year relative survival rates for malignant pleural mesothelioma
(Based on people diagnosed with MPM between 2010 and 2017.)
SEER Stage | 5-Year Relative Survival Rate |
Localized | 18% |
Regional | 12% |
Distant | 7% |
All SEER stages combined | 10% |
Understanding the numbers
- These numbers apply only to the stage of the cancer when it is first diagnosed. They do not apply later on if the cancer grows, spreads, or comes back after treatment.
- These numbers don’t take everything into account. Survival rates are grouped based on how far the cancer has spread, but your age, overall health, how resectable the cancer is, type of mesothelioma, how well the cancer responds to treatment, and other factors can also affect your outlook.
- People now being diagnosed with MPM may have a better outlook than these numbers show. Treatments improve over time, and these numbers are based on people who were diagnosed and treated at least five years earlier.

2023: Kogi Billionaire Prince, Malik Ado, Joins YPP, Declares Presidential Interest

One of the sons of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland and businessman, Prince Malik Ado-Ibrahim, has joined the Young Progressives Party (YPP).
He also declared his interest to run for presidency come 2023 general elections.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Ado-Ibrahim said his intention to run for the presidency in 2023 was sequel to the fact that there is leadership vacuum in the country.
He said Nigeria needed a leader who would unite the country and carry everybody along irrespective religion and tribe.
According to him, “This is not an ordinary time in Nigeria. We have seen mediocrity reign, we have seen people losing interest in Nigeria.
“We have greatness within us but we are just letting things happen, things don’t just happen. If you do not sow, you will not reap, don’t expect that if you leave things void, excellence will shine, mediocrity will rule.
“I have a love for Nigeria, I lived outside this country for 47 years, studied, worked hard and I return home, not because I didn’t have any other thing to do, but I have things to do here, then I learned, I listened and I got involved.”
On why he joined the YPP, Prince Ado-Ibrahim said: “I am joining YPP because if I try this in any other party in this country, I will be shoved to the bottom of the party.
“We are stuck giving the mantle of leadership to people who do not completely understand what the bulk of this population means, we don’t want a president by name, we demand leadership.”
He further stated that Nigeria needed a visionary leader, stressing that the current leadership of the country has failed woefully.
“I like to see the future, I like to dream big and I want to take people along that journey with me.
“I am telling every young person in Nigeria, you cannot give up, these are ordinary times that require extraordinary measures, get involved, there is a party waiting for you called YPP.
“The establishment has failed us woefully, nobody should be left behind, it is important that we have to find an ‘Uniter-in-Chief’, somebody who loves this country, who is not going to ask you where are you from but will ask you what are the contents of your heart, what do you to the table.
“I am bringing a visionary form of leadership that I show in my companies including my friends and my loved ones, I don’t want to dream small, I must dream big and I want to carry people along to the future.
“Nigeria needs visionaries, we need people with pedigree, we need people whose names count. We want to build things here for the world to come and see, we want to do things that people will be proud of,” he added.
Speaking earlier, the national chairman of YPP, Emmanuel Bishop Amakiri, said Prince Malik Ado-Ibrahim resonates with the YPP ideology.
He said, “We have provided the vehicle for Nigerians now, which is the YPP and the doors are open for like-minds, men and women of distinct character and moral nobility that can come and help to reset Nigeria.
“Nigeria needs a reset of leadership because all the things we are going through today in our country is as a result of leadership failure and I can tell you that once leadership is fixed every other thing is possible.”
